Oil Filled Heaters
Oil filled heaters are one of the quietest forms of heat producing units on the market. The special oil inside of these heaters conserves the heat and is circulated through the coils in the heater. Many of these models radiate the heat outwards and into the room where they are located. There are no fans to move the heat around, therefore making them not only quiet, but efficient as well. When heat isn’t forced outward, it is conserved instead of lost into the area where it isn’t needed.
The internal oil is warmed up to produce heat, instead of burned up like other types of heaters. Since it is only warmed, there aren’t any fumes produced. Other perks of the internal oil are that it never has to be replaced or even refilled. Many of these pre-filled heaters come with safety covers that make them safe for children and pets to be around. These heaters do tend to have a lower surface temperature as it is, but they are still capable of heating the room with just as much speed as any other type of heater.
These are excellent for taking the chill out of the air at the office, in the bedroom, or even the bathroom. They are often fairly compact and easy to move around from place to place.
These lightweight heaters can run on as little as 40 watts. This small wattage is still able to produce enough heat to comfortably warm and area up to 40 square feet. When using an additional heater, to warm areas where people actually are, the main furnace in the house can be put at a lower temperature.
One style of an oil filled model is the radiator style. These are excellent for any room, even the bathroom. A timer is a wonderful feature that allows for the heater to be automatically turned on at a specific time. This is great for those chilly mornings when its’ almost too uncomfortable to crawl out of bed. With the programmable timer, the heater can be set to turn on and warm up the room before anyone is even awake.
There is also a baseboard model that has two different heating levels. It is able to suck in air from below and draw it through the heater without the use of a noisy fan. These types of heaters run between 750 and 1500 watts. Oil filled heaters are an excellent alternative to providing heat for just a small area. It is much more efficient on electricity, since it cuts down on the need to use a large household furnace.
